CLIMATE CRUSADERS
2017-2024
The Origin Story
Conceived in 2017, Climate Crusaders was brought into being by artist, activist and community educator Alexander Zastera. As they started to understand the complexities of the effects of climate change, Zastera saw the need for more climate communication and fun scientific curriculum in a region so vulnerable to rising seas.
Through research program intensives like Catalyst Miami's CLEAR program, a masters in environmental science fromFlorida International University (FIU), advocacy at city hall, a deep dive into regional climate resiliency plans, friendships with scientists, policy makers, activists, engineers, doctors, artists, city planners, community members & more, Zastera continues to build the Climate Crusaders vision to advocate for a cooler tomorrow.
